Horeca at de Brabantsedag

Welcome to the Brabantsedag. Today, we are also catering to your needs. Below is the information on where you can find what you're looking for.

Eco Token

Starting this year, Brabantsedag is implementing a circular cup system. With this initiative, we aim to responsibly recycle at least 70% of plastic cups in 2024.

How does the cup system work? When you purchase your first drink, you’ll pay a one-time fee of €0.50 for an eco token as an environmental contribution for the cup. For each subsequent order, you only pay for the drink, as long as you return your used cup. It doesn’t matter if the cup is folded or torn when you return it to the bar, as long as it’s not covered in sand or other dirt, which would make it unsuitable for recycling. If you don’t have an empty cup when getting your next drink, you’ll need to pay another €0.50 for a new eco token.

Where can you get the eco token?

Eco tokens are available at vending machines (preferred) and at cash registers located at the Brabantsedag sites: Gemeentehuistuin, Strabrechtplein, and Wilhelminaplein. Float builders will receive one free eco token upon entry at the opening party, the float builders' meal, and the closing party.

Where should I leave my last cup?

Ensure that your last cup can also be recycled. You can dispose of it in the designated recycling bins on the festival grounds or return it to the bar. Cups cannot be exchanged for money. The one-time fee for the eco token is used to responsibly recycle all cups.

Sunday, August 25

The cup system with the eco token only applies at Brabantsedag bars. On Sunday, August 25, you don't need to return an eco token to external vendors, as they will be selling their drinks in bottles or cans.
